GENERAL BUSINESS MEETING
December 5, 2017
Supervisor Dean Edwards called to order the General Business Meeting of the Piatt Township Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, in the township municipal building, 9687 North Rt. 220 Highway, Jersey Shore, PA. He led those in attendance in the pledge of allegiance to the flag and a moment of silence.

GENERAL BUSINESS MEETING
Citizens Comments – None.
Minutes – Dean moved to approve the November 14th General Business Meeting, Dennis seconded, motion carried.
Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police Department – Officer Crawford presented the November 2017 Piatt Township Police Activity Report. There were 88.90 patrol hours, 29 incidents, 27 speeding violations and 5 additional citations and charges.
Act 537 – Nothing new to report.
Planning Commission – Nothing new to report.
Roadmaster –
- One load of salt has been ordered and received.
- A new cutting edge is on the plow.
- Penn Line has been contracted to line tree trim on Cement Hollow and is doing a nice job.
- Need reflectors & posts, Marco will order.
Tax Collection – Nothing new to report.
Solicitor – Nothing new to report.
SEO & PUCC – Nothing new to report.
Zoning & Building Permits – Two permit issued; Daniel Paulhamus & Jonny & Teresa Bowman.
EMC & Fire – Citizens Hose provided their 2016 Audit for the Supervisors to review.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Stormwater Management Ordinance – Nothing new to report, still working on it.
2018 Budget – Dean moved to approve the 2018 Budget as presented, Denny seconded, motion carried.
2018 Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police Contract – The Supervisors reviewed and discussed the contract for police services between the Township and the Tiadaghton Valley regional Police Commission. TVRPD requested a 2% increase; contract service rate will be $3,485 a month for a total cost of $41,820 per year. In previous years we paid $3,416.66 a month for a total cost of $41,000 per year. The Township will still receive 50% of the money generated by fines. The contract is good for one-year. Denny moved to contract police services for one year with the Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police Commission, Scott seconded, motion carried.
ACT 42 of 2017; Resolution #2017-14 – A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PIATT PROHIBITING THE LOCATION OF A CATEGORY 4 LICENSED FACILITY WITH PIATT TOWNSHIP – The Supervisors reviewed and discussed the implications of the resolution. No action was taken.
NEW BUSINESS
Correspondence File – Shelly presented Fire Tax Calculation for the balance of 2016 and 2017 from January-November minus the 5% collection fee. Dean moved to issue payment as presented, Scott, seconded, motion carried.
Appoint Auditor – Dean moved to appoint Bob Miller as Auditor, Scott seconded, motion carried.
Dean moved to approve the Treasurer’s Report, Scott seconded, motion carried.
Dean moved to approve payment of all bills, Denny seconded, motion carried.
Dean moved to adjourn, Scott seconded, motion carried.
