GENERAL BUSINESS MEETING
August 8, 2017
Supervisor Dean Edwards called to order the General Business Meeting of the Piatt Township Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, in the township municipal building, 9687 North Rt. 220 Highway, Jersey Shore, PA. He led those in attendance in the pledge of allegiance to the flag and a moment of silence.

GENERAL BUSINESS MEETING
Citizens Comments –
- Lou Sheddy was in attendance and requested one “Hidden Driveway” sign placed before the driveway at 1545 Devils Elbow Road, Jersey Shore. Dean agreed.
- Cogan House Township Supervisor Dan Roupp was in attendance. They are selling a 986 Farmall Tractor with boom mower and other accessories for $15,000. He encouraged Dean to come see it, get a demonstration and run it.
Minutes – Dean moved to approve the July 11th General Business Meeting minutes, Scott seconded, motion carried.
Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police Department – Officer Crawford presented the July 2017 Piatt Township Police Activity Report. There were 54.03 patrol hours, 27 incidents, 1 speeding violations and 7 additional citations and charges
Act 537 – Nothing new to report.
Planning Commission – Nothing new to report
Roadmaster –
- They are starting to replace the schoolhouse roof tomorrow.
- On Seeley Run Road a portion of the side of the road is giving away, split and sliding. Pine Run Excavating is coming in to dig and place riff raff.
- The rock ditch on Nices Hollow Road is getting dug out and black topped.
- The mower, rented from Bradco, did not mow as well as we like.
- Trouble with the F-450 truck again.
Tax Collection – Nothing new to report.
Solicitor – Nothing new to report.
SEO & PUCC – Nothing new to report.
Zoning & Building Permits – None issued this month.
EMC & Fire – Denny distributed a July Office of Emergency Management report. He is also working on responsibility & obtaining funding to remove the 25 trees out of Larry’s Creek from the storm.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Stormwater Management Ordinance – Nothing new to report, still working on it.
FEMA 2016 Disasters Assistance – Nothing new to report.
2017 Road Projects – Last month, the Township received two seal coat bids. The bid results are as follows…

AND request Hammaker East LTD to complete the work at the unit price quoted in the sealed bid, Scott seconded, motion carried. If Hammaker East LTD agrees to the above motion, a change order from Don Free will be necessary signed by both parties.
NEW BUSINESS
Correspondence File – We received notification that the Tiadaghton COG is disbanding. Piatt Township will be receiving $2,206.72 as well as 12 posts, 2 stop signs and 3 traffic cones.
RESOLUTION #2017-12 “A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PIATT PROVIDING FOR SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE 2017 BUDGET” – The Supervisors accepted Resolution #2017-12 which acknowledges receipt of and makes supplemental appropriations for funds received but not appropriated for in the 2017 budget with a motion by Dean, Dennis seconded, motion carried.
RESOLUTION #2017-13 “A resolution of the Supervisors of the Township of piatt in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania ADOPTING THE US 220/ I-99 multi-municipal Comprehensive plan – The Supervisors accepted Resolution #2017-13 with a motion by Dennis, Dean seconded, motion carried.
The Supervisors discussed, reviewed prices and decided to purchase two chain saws from Dotter’s Equipment Inc. in Mill Hall.
Dean moved to approve the Treasurer’s Report, Scott seconded, motion carried.
Dean moved to approve payment of all bills, Scott seconded, motion carried.
Dean moved to adjourn, Dennis seconded, motion carried.
