GENERAL BUSINESS MEETING

May 1, 2018

 

Supervisor Dean Edwards called to order the General Business Meeting of the Piatt Township Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, in the township municipal building, 9687 North Rt. 220 Highway, Jersey Shore, PA. He led those in attendance in the pledge of allegiance to the flag and a moment of silence.

Present: Dean Edwards, T. Scott Moore, Dennis Rager, Denny Buttorff, Shelly Davis

Visitors:  Officer Crawford, Chief DeRemer

 

GENERAL BUSINESS MEETING

Citizens Comments – None

Minutes – Dean moved to approve the April 3rd General Business Meeting minutes as presented, Scott seconded, motion carried.

Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police Department – Officer Crawford presented the April 2018 Piatt Township Police Activity Report. There were 85 patrol hours, 25 incidents, 92 speeding violations and 24 additional citations and charges.   Chief DeRemer requested the Supervisors to consider a multi-year contract (3-5 years) which would include a 2% each year.  The TVRPD Board is attempting to establish a long-term strategic direction and a multi-year commitment will assist them greatly in make wiser decisions.

Act 537 – Nothing new to report.

Planning Commission – Nothing new to report

Roadmaster

  • Ordered a “hidden driveway” sign for 1545 Devils Elbow Road
  • Got a new cutting edge for the John Deere loader
  • A steel pipe price for Martin’s Road will be $16,000.   This cost is split between Woodward & Piatt Township.   Checking on a concrete pipe price before proceeding.
  • The Farmall 986 should go to Dave Paulhamus.
  • Got 6 tons of cold patch, filled most holes.
  • Pine Mountain Garage said something is wrong with the transmission in the F250.

Tax Collection – Nothing new to report.

Solicitor – Nothing new to report.

SEO & PUCC – Nothing new to report

Zoning & Building Permits – No permits issued.

EMC & Fire – There will be a simulated disaster on June 6. Denny Rager will attend on behalf on Piatt Township.

 

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Stormwater Management Ordinance – Nothing new to report, still working on it.

Unused Equipment – Two bids were received and considered. The Supervisors decided, at this time, not to sell the unused equipment advertised.

and agreed to sell the boom mower, old plow to the Mack and the skid load tires.   Shelly will advertise as required by 2nd Class Township Code.

2018 Road Projects – The Supervisors reviewed the project estimate sheet prepared by Don Free. They are carefully considering the options presented before proceeding.

2018 County Aid – The Supervisors again tabled the discussion until the 2018 road projects are finalized.

 

 

NEW BUSINESS

Correspondence File – Dean, Denny & Marco will be attending the 20th Annual West Branch COG Equipment Show & Training Day, May 16 at Lycoming County Fairgrounds.

 

Dean moved to approve the Treasurer’s Report, Scott seconded, motion carried.

Dean moved to approve payment of all bills, Dennis seconded, motion carried.

 

Dean moved to adjourn, Scott seconded, motion carried.

Meeting adjourned at 9:35 p.m.
